Amazing stay in Carcassonne!

* Super clean and beautifully decorated. * Amazing terrace with views of the chapel’s vitraux windows. * Stayed wonderfully cool inside despite the 36°C heatwave!! * Complimentary coffee and tea were a nice touch. * Perfect central location, within 10 minutes walk of everything. * Easy and hassle free key collection and return. * We would happily stay here again next year!

Bad communication and issues with keys

Location is nice. But there were significant issues with our stay.

(An update: the staff and booking.com refused to acknowledge this safety issue, so have caution dealing with these hosts.) The host did not respond to questions on booking.com, leading to whatsapp conversation, and they were not helpful with normal tourist questions about bag storage in Carcassone. There was no dish soap to clean the dishes in the kitchen. The instructions to get the keys led to a random second property and is overly, and unnecessarily, complicated. This would be challenging in the evening. And then, when returning to the property at 9pm (fortunately not later), the external door was locked and we were not given a key for it. Fortunately the host responded to whatsapp (although their instructions were not very clear), but this could have been a significant issue if it was later in the evening. Additionally, we had to use a different dark, unwelcoming entrance at night to resolve this issue. The shower, kitchen and living room were not clean enough to feel comfortable. Access to terrace through the bedroom door is very difficult, we gave up trying to open that door.

Emplacement idéal, beaux volumes, belle décoration.

Propreté du logement à revoir. Linge de lit et serviettes avec une propreté douteuse. Vaisselle sale, odeur de poisson très désagréable dans les verres et les tasses ainsi que dans l'évier. Dosette café usagée dans la cafetière... Bref, vraiment dommage car logement qui a tout pour lui, mais la propreté pour nous, c'est le critère le plus important.
