Spacious and elegant apartment with private courtyard inside Palazzo Torremuzza, in the Kalsa district.
The apartment, located on the ground floor of a historic palace in Palermo, features a charming inner courtyard furnished with armchairs and umbrellas for relaxing in. The courtyard leads to the interior of the house, which spreads over two levels. On the ground floor the living area boasts an open space furnished with sofas, a fully-equipped open kitchen and a dining table, and part of the sleeping area, two bedrooms with a queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower. Some stairs lead to the second floor, which accommodates two additional bedrooms, one with two single beds and one with a queen-size bed. A bathroom with shower, a small terrace and a laundry room complete the layout.

We had a great week in this lovely spacious apartment. The location is ideal for exploring Palermo, being close to the older part of town, near the marina and lots of excellent restaurants. It’s only 20 minutes walk from the central train station, so easy to get to from the airport. There is an excellent supermarket (Famila) very close by for anything you might need. The bedrooms are large with very comfy beds, bathrooms big with excellent showers. The air-con worked well keeping the bedrooms nice and cool. The kitchen is a little minimal in equipment, but sufficient to prepare breakfasts and simple meals.Being a ground floor apartment there are no views of the city to be had, but being inside a large palazzo building it was very quiet with no noise from traffic. The lounge area has loads of space with comfy sofas. The courtyard is enclosed on all four sides, but was pleasant enough to sit out in after a long day exploring the city (some cushions for the seats would have been welcome). The smell of drains in the courtyard did spoil it on occasions, but seems to be a common issue in Palermo.

We stayed at the Torremuzza apartment in Palermo for one week in April 2026. The property is situated in an interesting area with good access to the city and local attractions.While the apartment is spacious and appeared superficially clean, it unfortunately felt poorly maintained and lacking in care and attention. There was no welcome provision whatsoever on arrival; we had to purchase basic essentials ourselves, including kitchen towels, dish cloths, salt, and pepper. In addition, there was no information provided regarding the operation of the air conditioning system or other appliances in the apartment.Several items of furniture and fittings were also damaged. Most notably, the dishwasher door was missing — an issue that had already been mentioned in a review from 2025, yet clearly had not been addressed.The most disappointing aspect of our stay, however, was the lack of responsiveness from the host’s representatives, “Wonderful Italy.” Our group consisted of six people, yet we were provided with only one set of keys. Repeated requests for additional keys were ignored, which made it unnecessarily difficult for our group to coordinate activities throughout the week.Overall, while the location has clear advantages, the standard of maintenance and level of guest support fell well below expec
