It’s in prime location
Receptionist is a bit slow during the check in. And the receptionist during the check out let us wait for a long time. She said just have a seat because they will check the room before they let us go, then we followed up after more than 20 minutes if are we done then thats the only time she told us that we are cleared.

Good. We had a room at the back which was spacious and nice. The main lobby and staf very good.
Swimmingpool had been renovated and looked like a nice garden.
But!
We come here since about ten years and the main attraction of this hotel was it huge and beautiful restaurant on the ground floor opening over its full width to the grand lobby. This restaurant was closed an completely dissappeared behind a long dull ceiling high wall.
Breakfast, at least that is what it was called, was now in a small characterless room on the first floor. Where before there was an abundance of food and choice there was now a row of ten pans with food only for guest with an arabic taste plus some fruit. For us as international guests there were 'just a few slices of cheese'! I could not believe my eyes. If we wanted an ommelet that was possible but had to be made somewhere in a kitchen which lasted 15 minutes. A coffee machine?. No sir just two cans with hot an cold milk. Coffee had to be ordered.
Oh and throughout the halls of the hotel the lights were switched off except at the room entries.
Where we always found this an attractive hotel when it was still Carlton Palace it has now completely lost its attraction under the new name and I would defenitively not rate it 5 stars anymore. Maximum 3 or 4.
The staff were great but this is not a hotel for international guests anymore.
