Extremely dissapointing stay but great potential when issues are fixed

Awesome location right next to the Vatican and the Prati Neighborhood. It is a very spacious and simple yet charming apartment with heating and air conditioning. At nights it was mostly silent and we could rest well and the beds were comfortable. The check-in was pretty easy.

It was an incredible disappointing experience due to two very major issues, first and foremost the lack of higiene in the kitchen tools. Everything, from the pots to the pans are just plain dirty and is gross to use them to the point we refuse to cook there after the first day. Maybe its the excessive use of the tools but still, it's gross and all the utensils should be clean for the guests upon arrival. To illustrate, the electric water boiler (not electric kettle which allows you to set the temperature, this one just boils the water) is as old as the foundation of the city of Rome and it's extremely disgusting to see that the bottom of it is so torn that the paint of it is peeling little by little into the water you are boiling to drink or cook. This was completely repulsive to the point that we refuse to use it and used a pot to boil water. To add insult to injury, the small pot The second major issue was that the shower experience is the worst, so much so that I was contemplating leaving the apartment early just because of this. First, the top shower was not working at all so we had to shower holding the hand-shower on one hand while trying not to slip on the sloped shower floor that was flooded because the drainage seems partially blocked so it can't keep up with a simple 5 minute shower. On top of all of that, the hot water does not work, it's intermittent. The apartment is next to a little public piazza so people can be noisy at times but in our experience it was pretty manageable since they respected the sleeping hours. Finally, the outer building door is opened by a web application from your phone so you need to have internet connection at all times in your phone and a related downside of this is that the ability to open it gets blocked exactly at the time of check out so if you forget whatever inside the building while you are doing the check out, you will need to contact support to be able to take the thing you just left behind.

Location was great! Hard to beat.

Tempermental overhead light in bathroom, sink light broke. Lamp in livingroom bulb socket broken with exposed wire. Overhead shower ( rain shower) inoperable. Had to use handheld showerhead in a tint shower.
