Tindasel - The Farm

Staff were lovely and so friendly and helpful! The outside sauna/hot tub is nice and the view is beautiful from there. Comfy bed and small but decent size room. There's plenty of shared space outside the room extroverts can hang out in. Everything is clean and smells nice. Parking available on site. Didn't eat the dinner since some of the dishes I didn't like but they looked really nice. Robes instead of tiny towels - thank goodness!

The breakfast is okay - pastries, skyr and granola, eggs and bacon, toast and such. It's nice but it's not a luxury breakfast like you might think given the description of the hotel. Again, it's decent but it's not exceptional. The road to the hotel is unpaved for a mile-ish. It's not an F-road or anything (I don't think), but it's not super pleasant so be prepared. No mini fridge in the room.

Our hostess, Kasia, took care of all our needs and was an absolute pleasure! We were not expecting such a high level of service so this made our stay extra special. For example, on our last night she made an effort to find us to let us know the aurora borealis could be seen - we would have missed it otherwise! The surroundings are gorgeous and the rooms comfortable. Breakfast was great but beyond that the dinners were fabulous! We initially were a little put off by the price of the 3 course dinner but figured we would splurge and try it once. The food was so good that we could not say no to dinners there for the rest of our stay! Chef Bjork is an amazing talent and her food should not be missed.

Nothing. Maybe the unpaved road off the highway to get to Tindasel but that was fairly short and not uncommon for Iceland.

Het hotel ligt een heel eind van de ringweg af maar is de ideale uitvalsbasis om Landmannalaugar te bezoeken. Het is een kleinschalig hotel dat op een prachtig privédomein gelegen is en bijgevolg heel rustig. Welkomsdrankje is inbegrepen. Zeer goed restaurant maar erg duur en geen menukeuze.

Stevig prijskaartje en dit zowel voor het hotelverblijf als voor het restaurant. Heel kleine kamers zonder plaats om je valies open te leggen. Weinig toiletartikelen (behalve zeep en conditioner is er niets: geen badmuts, geen naaisetje, geen vanity setje: dit zou je in een hotel van deze klasse wel verwachten. Geen hotelservice (bed werd niet opgemaakt). Alhoewel er geen 'gemeenschappelijk eetmoment' is, zit je er toch aan lange tafels wat zeker voor laatkomers wat ongemakkelijk is. Kortom: veel te duur voor wat je krijgt.

Nice views. Clean rooms and nice restaurant and bar.

Rooms felt like college dormitories.
