Taprobane House Luxury Boutique Hotel

Easily my favorite hotel during my entire Sri Lanka trip. This was the one place where I really felt like I was staying at a proper professional hotel rather than a smaller homestay-style property. The staff was excellent, particularly Raman, who was probably the best hotel employee we encountered during the entire trip. Very professional, experienced, friendly and attentive. He handled our check-in, helped us during breakfast, was available whenever we needed anything and even helped me arrange a PickMe ride to the airport, which saved us a lot of money. Raman also told us about places to visit nearby, including Majestic City, the coastal area and the railway station. His recommendations helped us make the most of our final evening in Colombo. Excellent location. Majestic City, the coast and the railway station were all within walking distance. Even my mother, who has arthritis and has difficulty walking long distances, was able to explore the surrounding area with me. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We had one large bed and one smaller bed and both were very comfortable. Great air conditioning and good room facilities overall. We also had a very nice view overlooking the garden area of a nearby church. The bathroom has an unusual design, with the sink inside the main room while the toilet and shower are behind separate doors, but we didn't have any problem with it. There was no breakfast buffet, but we were given a very large breakfast with plenty of options and Raman made sure everything was taken care of. Our check-in was slightly late, but it wasn't a problem and everything was handled professionally. The location really helped us enjoy Colombo. We had a lovely evening exploring the area and Majestic City in particular was a great place to spend our final night. Our only regret was that this was the end of our Sri Lanka trip and we only stayed here for one night.

Nothing significant. The hot water could occasionally turn a little cold and it would have been nice to have a breakfast buffet, but neither was enough to negatively affect our stay.

Les chambres sont spacieuses, le restaurant est très bon, et le Rooftop avec piscine est un vrai plus. Mais surtout, Merci à tout le personnel d’avoir rendu mon séjour très agréable. Ils ont été à l’écoute et très serviables !

The staff is helpful and the rooms are spacious.

The pool area was closed in the evening, same as the bar. The toilet and shower are see through, so the room is not accommodating to everyone. The price for the quality is too high, we would not recommend. Besides, we booked this hotel because we had a flight next day and they overcharge for the airport taxi. The regular price on uber is 3000rp, they asked for 11600rp.
