Fabulous holiday cottage in a great location. Kathleen was lovely and could not do enough for us, even providing hot water for tea during a local power cut and making us some of her amazing home-made jam to take home! The cottage was lovely, spacious, clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We will definitely be returning!

Warm, comfortable and well-maintained accomodation in rural surroundings. Friendly and very helpful owner. Excellent welcome pack - proper taste of Scotland. We saw basking seals at Ardwell, beautiful gardens near Port Logan and at Castle Kennedy. Rugged countryside of forest of Galloway well worth exploring with its red deer, mountain goats, waterfalls and hidden lochs. Several supermarkets, restaurants and coffee houses in Stranraer, about three miles away, Stacy’s chocolate shop is definitely worth a visit. It was a long drive to Duchra farm from South Wales but totally wo it. Must return!

Kathleen made us feel so welcome even before we arrived and the house was so lovely. Well-stocked, clean, and homely, it was the perfect place for us to spend our Christmas break with family. The hamper was a lovely touch (the shortbread was exceptional!). Access to Stranraer and shops was very easy and there was lots we could do, even if we didn’t have the weather to do it in.
