Straightforward instructions with photos of where to collect keys a short distance from property. Not tied in to having to arrange to meet the host or management agent.
The location in Old Town suit us well, a short walk to the beach with lots of food options, cafes and amenities close by. The apartment was clean and kitchen adequately equipped. Helpful to have use of a washing machine during our stay.
The key pick up and property entrance communication should have been made further in advance of the stay via the booking.com app rather than the host requesting personal email. Most people tend to switch off from checking emails while on holiday, especially when travelling with children, making the key collection more confusing than it needed to be.
While the overall look of the apartment was clean, a few dirty utensils and kitchen implements led me to wash everything again before use. This was true for the towels also that I suspect were not washed and dried correctly ahead of our arrival, having a stale, damp smell.
Unfortunately the air conditioning units were very temperamental making the apartment uncomfortably hot and stuffy at times, especially in the room with the raised bed. The noise throughout the night from the street below made it difficult to sleep and impossible to leave windows open even a little. This was followed by an extremely noisy refuse collection making sure everyone knew it was out doing its job around 5-5:30am each morning. Given the host stressed the importance of no noise after 10pm I expected a quiet area and was surprised by the level of street racket!
On a number of occasions we seemed to stumble upon ‘deals’ being made in the (unlocked) entrance hall and doorway of the property which was rather intimidating, especially with young children present.
While I liked the apartment overall I would think twice before booking again in future.
