Best thing about this is location, in villa area of downtown 10 minutes walk to bus terminal and Dutch fort etc. it’s a villa in good shape and layout with bigger siting and dinning hall. Big potential yet not tapped. The kitchen only has cups etc, no water kettle, fridge or drinking water dispenser etc thus wasted . The host is retired guy who doesn’t seem wanting to improve due to lack of budget options and competition in downtown.
The host somehow makes you feel you owe him, as every basics like hot water shower(there’s shared one), mosquito repellent and hot water to drink etc are given as a favor after request. but we guests also paid: 12+usd/night for a budget room with only toilet/cold water shower and fan without breakfast isn’t cheap for Sri Lanka standard guesthouse even in more popular places like Galle. Again lack of competition and choice in downtown, as most guesthouses are on the beach of Batticaloa.

The location is pretty good. It is close to the fort and the bus station.
We choose to go with the no AC and it was very hot. Not much circulation. Opened up the windows for the night.

Ich habe mich hier sehr wohl gefühlt, vor allem dank der Fürsorge des Inhabers und seines Angestellten. Die Lage ist super, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Lebensmittel kann man in unmittelbarer Nähe kaufen.
