Good value for money old school/futon lodging outside of Nozawa Onsen resort. Very lucky to have door to mountain resort morning & afternoon lodge-van transfers via Lawson shop if extra lucky.
Great english/chinese/japanese speaking host, very funny & cheerful. Found some great cheap eating & onsen within walking distance.
10min walk to Tagari Onsen ski field, worth considering.
Gps location correct.
Electric blankets for futons a nice touch.
Simple eggs, sausage,toast, jam, coffee breakfast.
Location name unclear, location tricky to get to depending on arrival time & day from Iiyama station. Taxi was 60000 yen.
Lodge to Nozawa Onsen ski field a complex & lengthy bus/train possible combo if wishing to travel outside of lodge escort times.
Bathrooms/showersa bit old school, smell of kerosine for heating.

Leon’s service was excellent. He went out of his way to help us and was very accommodating.

Host Leon was brilliant - a great guy and very accommodating with service, transport and advice.
The location. Given the name we expected to be in Nozawa Onsen but this is some distance away with no direct buses available.
