We highly suggest you check out all they have to offer! Upon your arrival you will given a code to access the red door which will lead you up a flight of stairs (elevators are not on site and climbing stairs are required to access the rooms). Once you find your room number, a separate code will be given to access your direct room. Please keep in mind this is not a full service hotel. Our team is available to help in any way possible. However, it's important to note that the downtown setting comes with the natural sounds of city life. Due to it's central location – everything you desire is just a leisurely walk away. Embrace the freedom to fully enjoy the downtown experience, knowing that your comfortable retreat at The 1856 Speakeasy Suites is just steps from the heart of it all. Because we are in the heart of Nevada City, and parking is limited, there are not designated parking spots. Please also note that there are stairs to access the rooms. We do not have an elevator due to the building being historic. And please be prepared to find all of the unique quirks this building offers due to it's history. Not all floors and walls are completely level, but we can assure you it has been inspected and safe. We tried our best to keep it as original as possible though to highlight it's beautiful character. IMPORTANT: 1. **Noise Levels:** - Rooms 1, 2, and 3 experience more noise, while 4, 6, and 8 may have some noise due to their location on Pine Street. Rooms 5 and 7 are the most peaceful for a quieter stay. 2. **Child Safety:** - Rooms 1 and 2 are not recommended for guests with children due to the balcony and low railing. Additionally, rooms 4, 6, and 8 have low windows, and caution is advised to prevent any climbing incidents if the windows are left open. IMPORTANT: If you cancel your reservation 31 days before your check-in we will refund you 100% of your payment minus the Credit Card processing fee of 3.9%. We also recommend all guest purchase trip insurance as it is relatively affordable, and protects you against unforeseen situations. SMOKING FEE DISCLAIMER: We take great pride in providing a clean and comfortable environment for all our guests. To ensure the well-being of everyone who stays in our property, we strictly enforce a no-smoking policy. SMOKING FEE: A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if evidence of smoking is found within the rooms. This fee is intended to cover the costs associated with professional odor removal and restoration of the property to its smoke-free condition. Our property is routinely inspected for smoke odors after every reservation. If smoking is detected during or after your stay, the smoking fee will be applied to cover the necessary cleaning and restoration processes.
