Absolutely wonderful hotel. It was clean and comfortable, very nicely designed and updated. Very kind staff. We saw the Northern Lights each of the two nights we stayed from our window and ventured outside for an almost private viewing, absolutely incredible. Breakfast was wonderful, dinner was also great the night we ate at the hotel. One of my favorite hotels I’ve been to.

This property is in a great location to enjoy the Icelandic countryside with mountain views or landscapes all around. The staff were good and the meals fine. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Need to be careful which room you get assigned. We were given a room - labelled as garden views - which looked at a corrugated metal wall 3 ft away. Even torturing the English language won’t deliver ‘garden views’ out of that. The picure of the rooms shows a view - if you closeup to the windows - which is clearly a landscape type view, not a metal wall. As far as we could determine, only 3 or 4 of the rooms have this problem. But they should not be priced as ‘rooms with a view’ and nor should they be charged at that level. I suspect these rooms are not used except in absolutely high season. And the place was full. Suggest negotiated beforehand which room you will be assigned.
