Porto Nafplio hit all the right notes. We stayed in the attic room with 2 balconies, comfortable reading chairs, couches, fridge, and comfortable bed.
The hosts were friendly and helpful and, as others have remarked, the breakfasts are fantastic! The location was perfect. Easy to wander the pedestrian streets of the old town to enjoy the restaurants and shops, but also convenient to the port parking lot to do day trips to nearby archaeological sites by rental car. As with most old town accommodations, there is no elevator, so we recommend travelling light to maneuver the stairs.

Nafplio was the final stop on our Greece road trip, and we stayed at Porto Nafplio for our final three nights. We were warmly welcomed by John and were absolutely delighted with the penthouse accommodation.
Our room was enormous, with one large double bed and an additional bed, leaving plenty of space for the three of us. We had not one but two large balconies, one on either side of the penthouse, giving us stunning views of the harbour on one side and the church piazza and surrounding hills on the other.
The room also had a fridge and tea and coffee-making facilities, with complimentary bottled water thoughtfully replenished for us each day.
Porto Nafplio is perfectly located right in the centre of town, with a wonderful selection of tavernas, restaurants, cafés, bars and shops literally on the doorstep. Following John's advice, we parked our car in a nearby public car park, which worked really well for us and made it easy to explore further afield.
We skipped breakfast on our first morning as we had an early start for a day visiting the islands. Breakfast on our second morning was delicious and beautifully presented, with a wonderful selection of local fruits and other delicacies.
On our third morning we had another early start for the long drive back to the airport. John very kindly prepared a bag full of biscuits and other breakfast goodies for us to take with us, along with two individual cafetières so that we could enjoy fresh coffee before setting off. This thoughtful gesture was very much appreciated.

The only downside was the three long flights of stairs from the hotel entrance up to our penthouse room (there is no lift). However, John very kindly helped us with our luggage, and we decided that perhaps all those trips up and down the stairs were good exercise, most especially given all the delicious meals we had been enjoying!

The hotel is in a great location. It’s very clean and comfortable. The owner’s mother cooks breakfast, and it is the most delicious food we had on our entire trip.

A wonderful family run hotel. Excellent location in the heart of Nafplio in a beautiful side street. The rooms & beds were comfortable . The bathroom although small was adequate & the shower had good hot water . But the reason you stay here is for the family hospitality & the breakfast . What an amazing spread of homemade foods
