We stayed in the Jungle Lodge at Karuna El Nido (2 adults and 2 kids), and the property was immaculately maintained throughout our visit and a spectacular deck/view over the beach. The room was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked reliably—much appreciated on the humid days.
Service was excellent. Ali at reception was incredibly accommodating, and having a dedicated WhatsApp chat for each room made everything effortless. We could message reception to arrange a shuttle to Town Square and request pickup when we were ready; even on short notice, the wait was usually only about 15 minutes. Also handy to organise massages.
The on-site restaurant served delicious food, though dishes didn’t always arrive at the same time. We were catching a transfer and experienced a bit of a delay, so if you’re dining as a group, it’s worth allowing an extra 30 minutes. I was initially hesitant about ordering drinks with ice, but they use filtered water and have their own ice machine, which put me at ease. Happy Hour from 4–6pm was a highlight—great cocktails and a lovely atmosphere.
The pool was refreshing and offered a beautiful vantage point for watching the sunset. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return.
The main things to be aware of are the stairs, the water, and the Wi‑Fi. There are quite a lot of stairs throughout the property, though we ended up treating them as our daily exercise—especially after enjoying the restaurant’s food. We also had mostly cold showers with low water pressure; some hot water would eventually come through, but usually not until the third shower. Given the location, it wasn’t entirely unexpected, but still something to note.
Wi‑Fi in the Jungle Lodge didn’t work for us, which we’d seen mentioned in another review. It didn’t bother us too much since we had the Tourist 80GB Globe call/data eSIM, and the Wi‑Fi at the restaurant worked well whenever we needed to connect.
