The hotel is on a quiet part of the island and the our balcony lead straight onto a pristine white sand beach. The staff were easily reachable by WhatsApp before and during our stay to help organise excursions and transfers at a good rate. We did a half day Mnemba island excursion, including a seafood lunch and swimming with dolphins. The breakfast being delivered straight to our balcony was also a nice touch.

L’établissement bénéficie d’un emplacement idéal à Matemwe avec accès direct et vue sur l’océan.
Le personnel est très réactif et aux petits soins. Nous avons été surclassé sans supplément (faible affluence sur ce côté de l’île, soleil et calme au rendez-vous).
Petit-déjeuner délicieux au choix du client la veille via un formulaire et servi à l’heure souhaitée.
Service de nettoyage de vêtements gratuit (comparé aux autres hôtels où un vêtement à laver coûte 2$).
Superbe restaurant local juste à côté : Chichi restaurant.
Transat sur la plage réservés à la clientèle.

A pleasant stay with a nice, comfortable room and a very comfortable bed. The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
Unfortunately, there were several issues that affected my stay.
The electricity went off several times. I understand power cuts can happen in Zanzibar, but the generator provided is quite small and extremely loud. It cannot run the air conditioning, kettle, or electric cooking range, which is particularly inconvenient for an apartment where guests are expected to be able to cater for themselves.
There were also water issues. The tap water is extremely salty, which left my skin very dry and, after a few days, I noticed my fine hair becoming dry and breaking.
I was also disappointed with the tuk-tuk pricing. A one-way ride of around 10 minutes to the nearest supermarket was quoted at USD 10, whereas the local price would normally be around 2,000–3,000 TZS. When I raised this with the owner, I was offered a better rate, but I declined as I felt the original pricing was unreasonable.
Overall, while the room itself was comfortable and the staff were helpful, these issues are worth considering, particularly for anyone planning a longer stay or intending to use the apartment facilities to cook and be self-sufficient.

Dès la première nuit, notre chambre située au rez-de-chaussée donnait directement sur la cuisine, avec notamment le bruit de la pompe à eau. Le personnel nous a proposé de changer de chambre le lendemain, ce que nous avons accepté. Malheureusement, malgré ce changement pour une chambre à l’étage, les nuisances sonores sont restées importantes : pêcheurs, appel à la prière à 4h du matin, enfants jouant au football… Il était donc difficile de dormir correctement.
L’isolation phonique est également un véritable point faible. Les chambres sont communicantes avec celles des voisins, avec deux portes entre les chambres, mais cela ne suffit absolument pas à isoler du bruit. Nous entendions très facilement les autres voyageurs parler ou même leur réveil.
Autre problème important : nous n’avons pas eu d’eau chaude pendant trois jours, voire pratiquement pendant tout le séjour. Nous avons finalement appris que les deux chambres partageaient le même ballon d’eau chaude, ce qui explique en partie la situation, mais cela reste très décevant pour un établissement de ce standing.
Concernant le petit déjeuner, celui-ci doit être commandé la veille. Le premier matin, nous nous sommes retrouvés avec une confiture dont nous ne connaissions même pas le parfum. On nous a également indiqué qu’il n’y avait plus de Nutella, sans nous en avoir informés auparavant ni nous proposer d’alternative : nous avons simplement dû nous en contenter.
Le ménage était effectué quotidiennement, ce qui est appréciable. En revanche, pendant nos quatre jours de séjour, nos serviettes de bain et de plage n’ont jamais été changées ni remplacées. Elles sont donc restées humides pendant toute la durée du séjour, ce qui est particulièrement désagréable.
Concernant l’environnement, la vue devant l’hôtel est effectivement magnifique et très paradisiaque. En revanche, l’arrière de l’établissement donne sur un mur qui sépare l’hôtel de la vie locale, avec un environnement beaucoup moins agréable.
