About this house rental
The whole group will be comfortable in this spacious & unique space. Choose a fun MCM themed decor & experience you’ll remember! This Ranch features new queen beds & mattresses in each themed BR, each nightstand has a touch lamp with USB outlets, the fastest Wi-Fi in Princeton, new 50' Roku TV, relax in “The Velvet Underground Lounge” (unstocked) & Rec Room or spacious covered patio. Solid light and airy 1966 ranch. As you enter the front door you can either go right into the living room or left into the hardwood floor hallway with 3 bedrooms and a full bath, with an additional toliet room, or go straight into the large open stocked kitchen dining area. You could easily do all your living on one floor but feel free to visit The Velvet Underground Lounge (unstocked) and Rec Room on the lower level. The back door leads to a spacious and private backyard that features a large covered cement patio. Close to Mainstreet shopping and restaurants, a 15-minute walk to the Amtrak station or The Barrell Society. Conveniently located to Chapel Hills Golf Course and Entertainment Center, The Barn at Hornbaker Gardens, The Cider Mill, and a host of state and local parks, bike trails, and other outdoor activities.

Pros — the house is decorated in a fun, kitschy way. 3 bedrooms and a roomy kitchen/dining space and living room would be great for a larger group. The rec room in the basement would be fun but we couldn’t find the lights. Communication with host was quick for most of our questions. Cons — only 1 full bath & a tiny extra toilet would be hard for a larger group. we had a couple of electrical issues (microwave worked intermittently) & there was an outage that may have been throughout the neighborhood & not related to the house. Most concerning was that there was no no-slip mat or treads in the porcelain enamel shower/tub, which led to me falling backwards, striking the back of my head on the vanity counter. When I requested that they provide a mat, the host dropped one off outside the house later that evening. Hopefully this prevents injury to any other guests.

Great rental. Very clean, quiet part of town, and street parking. Has a nice sized tv. Everything is retro themed, down to the lamps and even the stove! It was fun to use an appliance that was similar to what my grandmother used to have when I was a child. Beds are decent, maybe time to replace at least the one I slept on. Overall, would definitely book again.

The place was awesome, retro theme through out the house ! Plenty of room. Very clean in a nice, safe neighborhood. The garage was also available . Plenty of parking space .We plan to return next year but stay the entire weekend ! Would highly recommend !! Communication was very timely and easy.

We loved the location of the house, the cleanliness, the very comfortable beds, and the retro vibe. Communication was mostly prompt and helpful. However, the “smart” thermostat was a nightmare. It was 80 degrees in the house upon arrival. We were uncomfortable much of the time due to: 1) The air coming out of the vents was never very cool. 2) I figured out how to set the thermostat after trial and error. I set the temp to 70 multiple times. The house would begin to cool, then after a few hours, the temp would go back up! I don’t know if the owner was adjusting it.The water was an issue as well. My friend took a shower while my other friend and I were out. With her long hair fully lathered, the water stopped. When we returned, she was in a robe, with a towel around her head. We checked online and found no reports of a water main break, no neighbors were outside, etc. I called the property manager and left a voicemail. She texted me within a few minutes and explained that the owner has a “smart” water system, which as I understand, allows them to shut off the water if they think there is a leak. We were beginning to wonder if the owner even knew we were staying at the house! In total, my friend spent over an hour with soapy hair, making us late for our next outing. We didn’t take multiple showers per day, or unreasonably long showers. No taps were left on, and the toilets were not running. If these issues would be resolved this house would’ve been a great place to stay.
