The hosts were incredibly generous with their time and knowledge. The location was lovely with a beautiful garden and plenty of animals to engage with whenever we wanted. Add in a glowworm tour and gelato making and we couldn’t have had a better time.

The hosts are so incredibly welcoming and generous with their time and knowledge. My kids absolutely loved relaxed time with the gorgeous goats, seeing the beautiful alpaca as well as their dog, chooks and ducks. The house is very homely and well furnished with board games and food like cereal, bread, jam- so easy to settle in.

We had a wonderful weekend at Clearview Farm. Arriving just as a new pair of baby goats were born was such a nice surprise. Our children were excited and spent hours petting, cuddling and handling the goats. They also enjoyed handling the chickens, collecting eggs and exploring the farm. Harry the alpaca stood out as a gentle giant among the animals. One of the biggest highlights for the children was toasting marshmallows at the firepit. They kept saying marshmallows taste so much better this way. The adults had a great time too. We enjoyed interacting with the animals, watching the children have fun and trying the fresh produce around the farm. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The children loved the bunk beds and the LED lights were a fun touch. The double bed was warm and cosy; that we did not need the electric blankets. We were warmly welcomed with fresh bread, a bowl of eggs, butter and jam. They also provided cereal, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and marshmallows which made us feel very looked after. The kitchen had everything we needed, including oil, glad wrap and a dishwasher. Because of the wet weather, we spent more time indoors than planned. Dave and Rachel had that covered with boardgames, computer games and craft supplies to keep the children entertained. My husband and I also enjoyed visiting the glow worms with Dave. He shared interesting insight into their life cycle and it was a memorable experience. Finally, “Farmer Dave” and “Farmer Rachel” as our children now call them, were incredibly warm, patient and kind. They made the children feel confident and comfortable. They have a natural ability to make you feel at ease and view life with patience and clarity. They wear many hats. They are parents, farmers, guides as well as cheese and ice cream makers. Seeing life through their eyes made me wish for a simpler life in the country. Clearview Farm is a beautiful place run by wonderful people and we cannot wait to return.

The weather

It was warm and comfortable. The farmer was so tolerant and patient with the children. We had fresh eggs, bread, jam and butter waiting for us. Marshmallows over the fire pit was a bonus
