The location was great for us-we were visiting family across the street! Lakeside cottage is very cute, with a great screened-in porch.
The shower is tiny, up two steps, and there is only enough hot water for one shower. The second person in our party had a freezing cold shower midway through, and if you are older, it's a bit scary to get in and out of. A couple of the blinds were partially broken, so couldn't be completely closed, and when I plugged in my phone charger in the outlet behind the bed, it was clear that no one had vacuumed back there in quite some time. (There is a $100 cleaning fee.) Also, and this is clear in the description, there is no way to prepare meals other than a microwave. While we appreciate a night light, the cottage has a night light AND a motion sensor light, that would go off when you got up, and if you moved your leg a certain way in the bed, which made the room very bright. This has been installed to make sure that you could see the large step down to the kitchen area and the bathroom. One last thing: renters are supposed to take the garbage out to the can "in front of the garage" but the cottage HAS NO GARAGE! In no place do the directions explain that they mean the garage attached to another house entirely, which we found out about in a text message that was answered three hours after check out. We took the garbage with us, since we did not hear back in time. Lakeside cottage is very charming, but these things did make a difference in our time there.
