Incredibly clean room, the property is beautiful. Only downside is when there are multiple events like weddings it can get crowded.

We stayed two nights mid week in mid May.
Check-in was simple with friendly staff. We chose the valet parking, which was also convenient and cost a few dollars more per day than self parking.
The room was clean with a "beach" feel. Comfortable but not spectacular. We splurged and booked a room with a small balcony overlooking the bay, bridge, and lighthouse, which was nice. The wood on the balcony could have used a cleaning or refinishing, and when the AC unit was blowing it was very loud on the balcony.
The grounds were nice but there were some areas on the walkway where supplies and stuff were stacked up against the building. There's a neat lighthouse on the end of the island. The architecture of the resort itself is sort of outdated modern. Not much to look at.
They have a coffee shop with good coffee and expensive muffins and a 15 dollar breakfast sandwich (which was very good).
There's a bar with plentiful outdoor waterfront seating and a nice restaurant. A glass of wine was $16.
The resort is on an island walkable to downtown Newport. They also have a free and convenient shuttle to town.
Our room bill came to over $1500 for two nights. This included all sorts of resort fees, parking fees, etc.
I would have been fine with all the minor shortcomings if this place wasn't so darned expensive. It was nice, but for that kind of money you expect a bit more. If we return to Newport we'll stay at a different hotel for half the price.

We loved the deck overlooking the water. We ate at 1639 and the food was delicious. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We plan to be back again.

This is a beautiful property and I recommend staying here versus the Marriott or something closer to all the restaurants and everything. This is a short walk or trolley ride to anything you want. The views are spectacular. We had a by Bi-Level Suite, which was great and had two bathrooms which made me and my husband very happy lol. The restaurant was fine not the best but that was OK and if you’re looking for a good gym, it’s not gonna be at this hotel but I don’t think people are there to work out that much. We would stay here again in a second, very family friendly, pet friendly, and lots of activities and amenities.
