This is the place to stay in the old city!
Also go to the wonderful cafe Atelier Castellano across the street!

Fauna is THE place to stay in Old Town Montevideo. Jeronimo and staff are first class, and they truly go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. The hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. It is central to everything that is Old Town. We have traveled around the world and The Fauna is one of the best we have enjoyed.

Very stylish boutique hotel in the centre of the old town. Perfectly located in Montevideo. No breakfast, but no lack of nice cafe options nearby. Free bananas and small bar in the reception. Highly recommended. No lift in the building, so you will need to be able to carry your (and your partners) suitcase up two steep stairs.
