Overall, I had an awesome experience at this hotel. The room was clean, in decent condition, and the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
The restaurant downstairs was decent. We had a server who was awesome but I never got his name.
The hotel is near a university and there are plenty of walking paths to enjoy if you like to get out and about. Also, it's very close to a bus stop. Just know, if you stay at this property, the bus ride into Edinburgh is 45-50 minutes.
My only major issue of contention is Marriott's 'free drink in lieu of your room being cleaned'. Apparently both the first and last night don't count... so if you forego room cleaning after your first night the whole next day, that doesn't count. We were told "It's in the small print". Marriott should be ashamed. Their cost for one beverage is far less than the cost of paying someone to clean a room, yet they mislead the customers... VERY DISAPPOINTED in this part.
