Checking in was a little different (and a tiny bit challenging). The building is several floors and each floor has at least one "hotel". The building's front door is locked so you have to hit the "doorbell" for the hotel on the intercom system to have the door opened. Knowing which button to push on the intercom would've been helpful. I might have missed those instructions prior to arrival (but I don't think I received them). The room was on the smaller side, but it had everything I needed (a bed and full private bathroom). The people who worked the desk were very friendly and helpful. They spoke English very well (which was a relief as I don't know Italian). I had 2 different rooms because I left Rome for a couple days and when I returned to Rome, I was given a different room. Both were great! The housekeeper did a wonderful job keeping everything clean and tidy. The location of Sonnino Suite was perfect! There are restaurants close by and the "sights to see" aren't very far away either. If I were to return to Rome, I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our room here! We had so much space and the bathroom was a great size. It was very clean and in a great area for food and night life. The pictures do not do it justice. And the elevator was a fantastic touch with it being on the 4th floor, definitely saved us from having to drag our luggage. Check in was easy and early. We wish we booked more nights

Hotel Sonnino is very well located. Public transportation is nearby, making it easy to get to the Vatican and other tourist attractions by bus. There is also a taxi stand just one block away. A supermarket and several restaurants are within walking distance, which is very convenient.
The Church of San Crisogono is right across the street, and the beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere is just a short walk away.
Our room had lots of natural light and was very large and comfortable, with beautiful high ceilings. It was very clean, and communication with the staff was excellent.
Although it is not a typical hotel, Hotel Sonnino has all the amenities and services you would expect from a hotel, including fresh towels every day, slippers, and daily room cleaning. Everything was very clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!
