Beautiful pub with rooms and staff were outstanding. Our rooms were really well appointed and clean.
The food was good but we were a little underwhelmed with our meals. Salmon main dish was dripping in very salty miso and soy sauce. Restaurant was v busy and we were advised that there could be a wait for food.
Breakfasts were fantastic though we had to wait a ridiculously long time for our food on the second morning. Only one person serving and one chef creates quite a problem!
All in all we would recommend as a lovely quiet place to stay.

After meeting our friends and spending an evening in Cambridge we returned to the crown and punchbowl for a night cap before bed and and found the bar was shut up and all staff had gone home. It was 10.45pm. So our evening ended quite abruptly. Our room which was on the first floor, was a little on the small side, with only a skyline window, and unfortunately the blind didn't keep the light out, so it was very bright at 5am. Also I feel the pillows could be better quality. We have stayed at the pub before and would try and request a ground floor room again as more spacious. But overall a very nice peaceful stay and would recommend 👌

The location is good, the rooms are lovely, the pub and all the staff are great and the restaurant / food was super.
