Newport Resort

Very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful stay, quiet, clean, and had everything we needed.

We booked a two bedroom suite. The living room and kitchen areas were lovely. There are large television sets and a fireplace. We enjoyed having two bathrooms with showers in each as well as a large soaking tub. The pool was large and at the most comfortable temperature we could imagine. We loved the large hot tub and the sauna. Staff was friendly and helpful. However, the air conditioning units were not great, and it wasn’t that hot. The second bedroom had a ceiling fan instead of air conditioning, but there was a fan in the wall for airflow from the air conditioned areas. Because of the pass through fan and the pocket door that closed off the second room, there would be limited privacy in that room. Additionally, the handle for the pocket door fell off due to a lack of any screws holding it in. And there was no screen door onto the large balcony area. Overall, it is very nice.

We loved staying here. The staff was very helpful when we needed it, and it’s lovely that they have a good wine selection just by the reception desk. We had a living room, a bedroom and a kitchen, just like an apartment. I never got the coffee right- the packets they gave us made wimpy coffee, seemingly no matter how much or how little water I used. We have Nespresso at home, so I may be out of practice. Also, there was no place for luggage. I like to unpack, but my husband prefers to keep his suitcase open. We had to keep it on the sofa. There was no other surface where it would fit, and no place on the floor where we wouldn’t trip over it. However, the whole place is lovely. And it certainly couldn’t have been more convenient- a market practically next door, and a whole world of possibilities for shopping, dining, whatever. We’ll be back!
