Here’s a balanced 4-star review that sounds fair and helpful:
We had a pleasant stay overall and really appreciated the traditional ryokan experience. The staff were kind, the property was clean, and the breakfast was beautifully presented.
That said, there were a few things that made it a 4-star stay rather than a 5-star one. I should have researched the location and amenities more carefully, but I was surprised that the surroundings weren’t particularly scenic. There is no garden to enjoy, no view from the room, and no view from the breakfast restaurant, which made the experience feel less special than I expected.
The onsen was also much hotter than I’m used to, making it difficult to stay in for more than a few minutes. Finally, the futon mattresses were quite firm and not especially comfortable for sleeping.
Overall, it’s a good place if you’re looking for a traditional ryokan experience, but I would recommend checking the location and facilities carefully to make sure they match your expectations.

5 stars +++. This is one of the most wonderful properties I have ever stayed in. The people, all of the staff overly friendly, so courteous, so helpful, I hope to return one day and stay at this property. The food at breakfast is delicious, the servers were impeccable, reception and check-in was great, the location is super convenient.
It is a safe property, quiet, clean, what more can I say? Arigato 🙏
