I chose the property because it was close to Liverpool Street station which is the link to the Stansted express for the airport return. This was the only positive, I was sent a whatsapp message: "We have a self check in system. Also you have to pay cleaning fee which is due before check in... £25. Please share screenshots of the payment proof of the cleaning fee payment." I paid the additional £25, that was never mentioned when booking. I assumed that this 'serviced apartment would be clean'. On arrival it was far from clean. The smell of fusty unclean carpets on the landing was bad but once we opened the door to room one the stench hit out nostrils. Pure raw excrement was the odour in the room. A Febreze air freshener was left on the bed, but it had no impact to this eye watering odour. It was literally vomit inducing. I was with my autistic son who is always super grateful but he could not hide his dismay at the state of this place. There were flies flying around. There was a smoke alarm ripped out. There were male and female hairs in the bed. There were insects crawling in the dirt on the floor. The wardrobe was held together with security tape. The fridge also stank of something sour. Towels were left and they smelt like they had been unwashed. The shower cubicle was unclean and the mat on the floor was extremely dirty, Unfortunately we had no other option but to leave our luggage and get on to our planned appointments or I would have tried to find another hotel.

The room was okay. The blinds were very cheap and did nothing to keep out the light/ heat. That meant the place was still roasting hot and bright by the time I got back at about 11 pm. Then you can either open the windows and deal with the noise or keep the heat inside. Not a great situation and difficult to sleep. The Hotels.com listing said "Housekeeping is offered for an extra charge". You actually have to pay the cleaning charge. The person I was dealing with kept saying I'd booked through Expedia.com, which wasn't the case (Hotels.com must have duplicated the listing), so perhaps that's why it wasn't clear.
