Lovely accommodation in centre of town easy to park this time of year handy having supermarket so close
Would return again but mattresses hard for our old bones
Easy to contact owners re checking in room 6 door lock needs attention had to fiddle to open
This is not a hotel but an apartment would have liked room change more frequently every 2 days?

We spent a very happy few days at Downtown Alegria. The room was spacious, aircon was much appreciated and we really enjoyed having a small balcony overlooking the square outside. The communal facilities were sufficient for making picnic lunch / breakfast and a simple supper though we ate out each evening as there are so many good eating establishments in Tavira. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A small supermarket next door was very useful - be sure to return plastic bottles to get your plastic deposit money back. The accom is an easy 5-minute stroll to the heart of Tavira’s historic centre and its ferry service to the Praia de Tavira. We ventured to Santa Luzia and Pedra del Rei by bus 105 AND took a train to Cabanas to visit the beaches at each place- all beautiful and well worth the short air conditioned journeys. The seafood at the tapas restaurant Mira diagonally opposite the accomodation is superb. The people of Tavira were very welcoming and kind, we will definitely be back and would stay at Downtown Alegria again.
