For an overnight stay on a budget, this was fantastic. The bed was comfy, decent pillows and duvet, the sheets and towels were lovely and clean and I really liked the brand of toiletries. The hotel/pub is really big and could do with some updating, but this would needs huge investment, so I'm not surprised at overall condition, but it's functional, clean and tidy. There were two bars one for side was food/restaurant and the other drinks, darts and sport on the TV. Lots of locals, I had a great conversation with locals whilst enjoying a few pints. Very big outdoor area at the back with heaters and a very large TV with sport on. Fantastic stick of beverages, I had some spicy chicken wings and apple pie with fresh cream, both were delicious. AJ (landlord) was very welcoming. The general atmosphere was busy and enjoyable. I will definitely come back again for a stopover stay.

I absolutely loved this property. The staff were great and bar and restaurant fabulous. Now if you want a Hilton or Travellodge this isn't for you. This is Quirky and Wonky and has stairs, no lifts. The rooms are rustic but perfectly functioning. There are cracks and wonky flooring. But its fun...well i liked it. The Bedding is clean. The bathroom was clean The TV worked, there was WIFI. Tea and coffe...great. There was no lamp in my room or Hairdryer. We asked but they didnt have. This is a very very old building but has good bones and a lovely atmosphere. Ample parking to rear of property. Beautiful outdoor area. Very quiet at night, but you may hear bar or restaurant depending on where your room is. Unfortunately i had a neighbour who was in and out and let the doors slam!! But thats no fault of the hotel. Definitely going back....just love it and the village its in
