The condo itself was very nice, comfortable, and cozy. We really liked the atmosphere, the location, and the overall setup of the property. It was a pleasant place to stay and worked very well for our short overnight stay before an early flight.
Unfortunately, the communication regarding check-out was disappointing. We stayed for only one night and had to leave around 3:30–4:00 a.m. for a 6:30 a.m. flight. The detailed check-out instructions, including where to take the trash and the requirement to load and start the dishwasher, were sent only after we had already left the property.
Because we had not received these instructions beforehand, we gathered the trash and left it together by the kitchen and left our dinner dishes in the sink. We returned the keys to the lockbox and left the parking pass inside the condo.
Later, the owner sent us a very harsh message saying he was “appalled” and “absolutely disgusted” by the condition and that we were “never welcome back.” This was surprising and upsetting, especially since there had been no party, alcohol, damage, or intentional mess.
I believe this situation could easily have been avoided if the check-out instructions had been provided together with the check-in instructions.
