The location was great, right across from the beach, extremely close to the airport, very convenient for transit/travellers.
Lots of restaurants nearby and easy to get to Male city.
It felt very safe, needing a key to access the solid door, and most of the time there was someone at reception, always very friendly.
The manager Jim, was very friendly the whole time. He offered me to borrow money to pay for a bike when I needed to get somewhere without cash, and was always happy to help plan travels around and book transport. He spoke to me for a while about continuing my travels in Srilanka where I had been, and suggested places to visit.
There wasn’t anything I ‘didn’t like’ as such, I just think the website image gallery gives a bit of a false perspective of the view. Those that are lucky to have the view, have a clear view of the ocean, otherwise you look straight at a wall. Not a problem, as I didn’t spend much time in the room, but it impacts the ability for natural light to enter the room which makes it feel a bit cavelike.

We stayed here for one night before heading to another island. As a large family, we booked two 2-bedroom apartments, which gave us plenty of space. The kitchen was very convenient for preparing meals for the kids. The location was great, and the airport transfer by large van made traveling with our family easy and comfortable.
It would be nice if the hotel offered an airport pick-up service.

We stayed in the Standard Room at Blue Sky Beach. Before booking, we saw photos of the beautiful pool and assumed it was available for all guests. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told that the pool is private and only accessible to guests staying in a specific room. This is mentioned in the fine print on Booking.com, so make sure to read the room details carefully if pool access is important to you.
Positives:
The hotel is located right on the beachfront, making it nice for relaxing walks along the beach.
Breakfast was included in our stay, which was a nice bonus.
The Standard Room felt quite small, with very little space to open suitcases.
There was no TV, which meant there wasn't much entertainment, especially since there isn't much to do nearby.
The room window faced another building, making the room feel quite enclosed.
The shower had very low water pressure and the hot water was only lukewarm.
There was no bin in the main room, only a very small one in the bathroom.
The minibar was completely stocked with items for purchase, leaving no room to keep our own drinks or snacks cold.
Communication was difficult throughout our stay, as only one staff member spoke English well. This made even simple requests challenging.
Breakfast at the restaurant next door was frustrating because staff struggled to understand basic requests like asking for salt and pepper or hard-cooked eggs.
Dinner was a similar experience—we asked how many grams the steak was, but the waiter simply smiled without answering, and when we ordered one Coke, we were brought two instead.
Overall, the beachfront location was the main highlight of our stay. However, the small room, communication difficulties, lack of shared facilities, and limited amenities made us feel that the Standard Room was overpriced for what it offers.
