Our two-night stay at Shian Cottage in Trochry, near Dunkeld, was truly unforgettable.
The village itself is picturesque and peaceful, but what made the experience exceptional was the warmth of the people.
Adrian and Sheila were incredibly kind-hearted hosts. Their hospitality made us feel instantly at home, and their knowledge of the area added so much to our stay. It honestly felt as though we had known them for years.The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the cottage itself was spotlessly clean. Every corner was thoughtfully decorated with love and care, creating a cosy and welcoming atmosphere throughout.
We were also touched by the kindness we encountered around Dunkeld. A special thank you to the chef at Dunkeld Art Cafe, who went out of their way to help us when we were unsure about our plans. Small moments like that made a big difference.
From the friendly pizza shop owner to the helpful lady taxi driver and Billy, everyone we met contributed to making our short trip truly memorable.
This wasn’t just a stay—it was an experience filled with genuine warmth and connection. We’re very grateful and would love to return.

Delightful hosts , outstanding breakfast .
A great base for the Dunkeld area.
Not much in the way of pubs , bars , places to eat so this is a base and a good one .
