Veronique and Tony were perfect hosts and we had many enjoyable conversations in our best beginner's French, helped by Veronique's excellent English. It was marvellous to stroll the extensive vineyards and see the grape harvest in progress. It is a true wonder of nature to contemplate the millions of vines in the region capturing sunlight and groundwater and converting them into sweet globules of life-giving pleasure. The nearby town of St Emilion is a medieval wonder with tan-coloured buildings, cobblestoned streets and nice cafes and restaurants. We walked through the vineyards along paths flanking the rows of vines to get to town, once in the dark late at night guided by the moon and the stars. On days we were tired, there was an excellent good value Uber service.

Breakfast was nice with orange juice, bread, meats, cheese, the hosts own grown figs, yogurt, jams, with choice of tea or coffee.

The rural setting in a vineyard with a UNESCO medieval village within walking distance. Anne our housekeeper was very attentive and made our breakfast for us.
The breakfast was plentiful but we would have liked more fruit.
