Incredible hotel! There are steps to get inside, but if you’re in Italy you probably expect steps anyway. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. We passed by the Duomo every time we were moving to our from the hotel. We even had a late check-in and they made it very easy, sending pictures and videos of what to do. It felt very safe. The bathroom was very large and the air conditioning worked really well. Our window looked out into an alley also, so it was quiet in the room.
There were a lot of free amenities as well. We were able to fill up our water bottles with cold water, and they offered maps and snacks in the lobby. There was a small courtyard also where you could sit in a covered outdoor space if you wished.
Firenze in general is very walkable, but the location specifically was easy to navigate. We actually ran out of phone battery on our first day in Firenze and were able to navigate by the Duomo to reach it, then followed a few simple streets back to the hotel. Plus there’s a really good gelato shop called La Gelateria and a wonderful bakery called Ricordi that are super close to the hotel. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the train station as well. I would highly recommend this place.

Loved our stay here. The hotel is beautifully renovated and furnished. From the outside this place looks very quaint. But once you come inside and go up the small flight of stairs to the reception, you’re transported into a beautiful mid-century modern lobby with water, coffee, and snacks for guests.
Our room was just off of the lobby with a view of the street below. Our bathroom was huge with a gorgeous walk-in shower that had a rainfall shower head. This was our most comfortable that in Italy. All the bets are firm, but this one was on the soft side of firm, thankfully. The air conditioner worked well enough and the noise was what we expect in a very old area of Florence. There are street sounds and some bumps in the night but nothing that will keep you up unless you’re an incredibly light sleeper. In that case, I’d bring a pair of earplugs.
The staff takes great care and making sure you feel welcome and give you lots of recommendations. I recommend making sure you have WhatsApp and find hotel Zanobi on WhatsApp. The staff was able to communicate with me before check-in and send me recommendations when I asked for them.
The walk from the train station to this hotel is doable, but it is all cobblestone streets that have very narrow sidewalks. These streets are extremely high traffic with pedestrian and cars. We opted to take a short taxi ride, called by our hotel back to the train station when we were leaving Florence. The heat was a factor in this decision as well.
