EL RIO Y MAR RESORT

We really enjoyed our stay at Rio y Mar Hotel. We chose this hotel because of its excellent value for money and because the dive center is conveniently located on the property. The only thing to keep in mind is that it's quite far from Coron Town, so it's better suited for guests who don't mind staying away from the town center. We stayed in a lovely cabin with a beautiful sea view. Although my wife is the scuba diver and I am not, my favorite part of the hotel was the pier. It's where guests arrive and depart by boat, and it also has a great bar. It was the perfect place to relax with a cold beer while enjoying the scenery. Despite the heavy rain during our stay due to the monsoon season, my rating is still a 10/10. The staff, atmosphere, and overall experience made it a memorable trip. I hope to come back one day and experience Rio y Mar under sunny skies.

Our family recently stayed at El Rio Y Mar Resort in Coron, Palawan, and we can honestly say it was one of the most memorable vacations we’ve had. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The sunsets are breathtaking, and waking up to the sound of the waves with the cool morning breeze while enjoying coffee at the beachfront restaurant was simply priceless. From the moment we arrived, every staff member made us feel at home. They always greeted us with a cheerful “Mabuhay!” every time we crossed paths, which made our stay even more special. Everyone was warm, approachable, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. Our beachfront room was thoughtfully designed with a beautiful tropical theme. We loved the little touches, like the woven baskets that guests can use as beach bags, the mini abaca fan to keep cool, and the complimentary chilled drinks waiting for us in the refrigerator. The resort has plenty of activities and amenities for everyone. There are separate pools for kids and adults, a diving pool, paddle boards, surfboards, a volleyball area, and an air-conditioned indoor game room. You can also enjoy snorkeling, trekking, hiking, and many other activities. If you’d like to explore Coron, they also offer well-organized tour packages. The food deserves a special mention—it was outstanding! Every meal was delicious, and dinner was made even more enjoyable with live acoustic music. We were especially impressed when the musician sang a Japanese song after a Japanese guest requested it. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and before long, guests were singing and dancing together, creating such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. A special thank you to Ms. Mikaela, who always greeted everyone with the biggest smile. She, along with the bartenders and the rest of the staff, made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. We’d also like to thank Ms. Janet, one of the resort’s partners/owners, for taking the time to chat with us.

The bed was the most comfortable bed we had on our whole trip. The staff is outstanding, the facilities are great and the nature is wonderful. Even we were in the middle of the super tyfoon we had an amazing time on the resort.

The bathroom could use an upgrade.
