The Sira, a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa, Lombok

It’s actually difficult to put into words how amazing this hotel is. By far the most phenomenal hotel we have stayed at. The staff, the room, the facilities, the food - AMAZING!

A long journey from the airport but definitely worth it!

Everything was perfect from start to finish. The room was spacious and had an amazing view. There were plenty of sunbeds available on the beach. The two swimming pools were absolutely huge and beautiful. Breakfast was amazing, and overall, all the restaurants offered very good food. The massage at the spa was also fantastic. A wonderful stay. We would happily come back!

A few more umbrellas around the pool would be greatly appreciated. It would also be nice to have a pleasant outdoor bar area where guests could enjoy a drink and relax in the evening.

To był absolutnie wyjątkowy pobyt i najpiękniejsze hotelowe doświadczenie w moim życiu. Wyjazd był prezentem z okazji moich 30. urodzin i nie mogłam wyobrazić sobie piękniejszego miejsca na ich świętowanie. Od pierwszej do ostatniej chwili czułam się wyjątkowo i wspaniale zaopiekowana. Hotel jest przepięknie położony, wśród palm, bezpośrednio przy turkusowej plaży. Cały obiekt zachwyca, baseny są imponujące, a jednocześnie wszędzie można poczuć ogromną prywatność, spokój i luksus. Momentami naprawdę można poczuć się jak w „Białym Lotosie” tylko bez dramatu. :) Na szczególne wyróżnienie zasługują również restauracje – każda ma zupełnie inny charakter i oferuje inne doświadczenia kulinarne, dzięki czemu każdy wieczór był czymś wyjątkowym. Największym skarbem The Sira są jednak ludzie. Obsługa jest niezwykle serdeczna, uważna i profesjonalna. Szczególne podziękowania dla Sary, naszego concierge, która wspaniale się nami opiekowała i sprawiła, że ten pobyt stał się jeszcze bardziej wyjątkowy. To miejsce na zawsze będzie częścią moich wspomnień z 30. urodzin. Z pewnością zapamiętam ten pobyt do końca życia.

Nie było niczego, co nam się nie podobało. Jedynym minusem było to, że pobyt skończył się zdecydowanie za szybko. :)

An outstanding property. It's spotless and so peaceful you often feel like you're the only guest. The beach is stunning. Rooms are beautiful and large and the bed is so comfy. The staff are some of the kindest and friendly people we've met in a hotel. They made us feel welcome at all times, and we loved not having to worry about early check-in or late check-out. We loved having our own butler, and Willy was a gem. The massage at the spa was amazing (although freezing cold). When things went wrong, the staff apologised and made several gestures to make up for it, which we really appreciated.

There seem to be more staff than guests, yet when you need something, you can't find anyone. Service was disappointing for a hotel of this level, and inconsistent. The housekeeping schedule is odd, either far too early or far too late. They skipped our room once and threw away toiletry samples I was still using. They also cleared cutlery we needed and failed to replace them. Blackout curtains are missing in the room too. At the restaurants or when ordering room service, more often than not we had to wait quite a long time, breakfast included. They even failed to place our order and we had to wait 45 minutes for a tiny dessert, and nobody thought to check on us during that time, so it only arrived after we enquired about our order. On another evening, our main course took 30 minutes to come and dessert another 30. The staff blamed a large group dining at the same time. That's no excuse, because if the hotel accepts big groups, the other guests shouldn't suffer for it. Portions are small, prices are high for what you get and most dishes are spicy. The staff don't seem well trained on the menu and gave us wrong advice on which dishes were spicy. Another thing is that we were told when we arrived that the staff would remember our dietery preferences and yet they kept asking each time. The water sports staff can be unfriendly and won't let you borrow a paddleboard despite good tide conditions. The scuba diving and snorkelling trip didn't meet the Sira's standard; the food on board was the worst we ever had on a diving trip and the boat had no toilet so we had to pee in the water. All in all, the service became a major source of stress in an otherwise peaceful setting. Tip: If you want to swim in the sea, check the tide schedule with the hotel and bring water shoes.
