Large, modern apartment right on the main shopping street in Reykjavik. Convenient parking (paid), helpful hosts, and comfortable bed. A great option for seeing the city and taking day trips. If you're looking for more space than a hotel in a great location, this is a great option.

Convenient to what I planned to walk and see in Reykjavik. It was very clean.
Narrow stairs to walk to third floor. The front door was hard to open (main door not apartment door)

Wow! What an amazing apartment. The mother-daughter team who manage it clearly have put a lot of thought and love into the space. The bedroom is large with a very comfortable king size bed, the living room is beautifully appointed with a record player and huge TV. Very nice bathroom with eye-catching tile work and a well-equipped kitchen. Thoughtful decor all around and an overall cozy vibe that really makes you feel at home.
The check-in process feels a bit like solving a puzzle on a game show but we had fun with it. :) Otherwise, my only regret is not staying here longer than one night!

Location!! Great location around the corner from bus stops. On main shopping street but quiet. Lovely apartment, spacious and tastefully deocrated. Instructions were clear with photos on how to find the lock box.
The dishwasher had a sign that it was out of order. That was okay. I am used to washing by hand. But the bath sink was an inconvenience. The water was only one temp: scalding hot. And there was next to no water pressure from it. So we had to brush our teeth and wash our faces in the kitchen sink. The lockbox was easy to find but only because of the photos. I don't think we would have found it in heavy rain or darkness. Lastly, the front door lock needs replacing. It is extremely difficult to use. One has to find just the right little catch inside the lock. I panicked a few times thinking I would never get in. Lastly, the main reason we got an apartment instead of a hotel was for the kitchen. The kitchen is not well-supplied with cooking utensils. Eating out in Iceland is prohibitively expensive, so cooking should have been more easy. The owners were great about communication until I mentioned by text the problem with the bath sink. I never heard from them again.
