Excellent breakfast and friendly service, great location in this quiet, beautiful village with another great pub and a well-stocked village store just opposite.

My experience staying at this inn was very mixed. The bedroom and bathroom were excellent. The windows overlooked the tables of the exterior dining area which was not very private. I requested a fan as the room was very hot (the windows being firmly closed on arrival). After a search by the staff, unfortunately it was not possible to supply one.
Dining in the restaurant was not an enjoyable experience. After a very long wait I was eventually given a menu. When I eventually was able to place my order I was astonished by the curt, unfriendly and almost rude demeaner of the waiter. The pizza that I ordered was excellent. Later I asked the waitress for a tub of ice cream. I was disappointed to be told that this was not possible as the kitchen was now closed.
Without access to a fan I spent a very warm night in the bedroom.
Next morning my experience was a total contrast to the unfriendly service at dinner the previous evening. I was greeted warmly by a charming lady who could not have been more helpful and who looked after me impeccably.
Breakfast was delicious.
