Beautiful old pub just a short drive from the motorway. Rooms recently refurbished and beds very comfortable. The food is exceptional and of a high quality and presented beautifully. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and have worked very hard to get the pub to this standard.

A nice traditional pub in a quiet location, close to the M6. The bed was comfortable and the pub food good. Staff were friendly and efficient, especially the young lady on breakfast duty. The pub has its own ample carpark which is good in a small village.
There was a glitch on booking the room, which was booked on this site. When the pub hadn't answered a question that we sent, we rang the pub from the number on the Booking.com app. The number on the Booking.com app was a private number in Manchester. We then went to the website for the pub and rang directly but was told by the new owner that all rooms were fully booked. However, Stuart, the helpful new owner rang back a few minutes later to say there was now a room which we were obviously relieved about. I hope that these were just teething problems for the pub as it deserves to be a success. On Booking.com it said there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. When I mentioned next morning that there weren't any in our room I was told that we should have been told at check in that they were at the end of the corridor, outside the bedroom. We also had a tiny amount of toilet paper which we didn't realise until the middle of the night - Not a good time to discover that!

Liked the people, the room was small but very comfortable. Liked the arrangements for tea and coffee. Supper was delicious.
Wasn't wild about the noise the loo made after we flushed it, and when we ran the hot water. And the breakfast was not brilliant, but I'm sure that was just teething problems with the new owners only having just taken over.

I do not expect to eat breakfast with other peoples dogs. Also heard dogs snaking and barking early morning
