The location is excellent for a visit to Ambleside, the Breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive.
Not a reflection on the pub or staff itself, but we were unfortunately in a room next to a couple who got some reason decide to have constant arguments and the TV all night. Which meant on our second we had I would say no more than 2 hours sleep all night. Not the best preparation for a Long drive back home on the Saturday morning. And we weren't aware there was a night time call number until the manager told us at breakfast that the number was on your key card. But again not a reflection on the pub or staff itself.

Location was excellent.
Breakfast was dreadful. Bacon sandwich was a slightly warm slabs of bacon tossed between two slices of soggy white bread, uncut. English muffin for Eggs Benedict was I toasted. Self service for most part. Chaotic. Much preferred our experience at the Golden Lion ar Settle! Line up at bar was slow.for drinks and food order. Not enough staff. Selection of cask ales pitiful.
