Very quaint property in a perfect location. Spotlessly clean, with everything you needed for a lovely break away.

Delightful warm welcome from Debbie and Paul.
Spent time chatting to us and helping plan out our day, which, with us being novices, was much appreciated.
Perfect location with a stunning view of the old waterwheel from our room.
Spotlessly clean room and en-suite.
On arrival we had complementary water, decanter of port, lots of tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
The highlight was the homemade flapjack.
We were generously re-stocked on the second day too.
Breakfast was perfect and very quick service.
Overall a lovely stay, and we are already planning our second visit.
Thank you both for making our stay so pleasant and comfortable.

The B&B itself is a lovely place to stay, with lots of thoughtful touches. There were teas, coffees, biscuits, port and homemade flapjacks provided in the room, along with a hearty breakfast. The shower was great, toiletries were provided, and the location is very central, making it easy to walk to nearby pubs and restaurants.
If you’re travelling on a Friday evening and need some flexibility around motorway traffic, it’s worth being aware of the very strict 4–7pm check-in window.
We had contacted the hosts a week in advance to let them know we had a long journey ahead of us. Although we planned to allow plenty of extra time, we were ultimately at the mercy of motorway traffic. The response we received was quite curt, with the suggestion that if we couldn’t make the check-in window, we should call so they could provide us with a list of nearby places to stay. This was particularly unhelpful as we were already past the point of free cancellation, and finding alternative accommodation in the Lakes during peak season would have been extremely difficult.
We therefore set off several hours in advance, but as the journey progressed it became clear that we were likely to arrive around an hour late at 8pm. We called ahead, but unfortunately found the hosts very inflexible. But thankfully, after a lot of negotiation, we were eventually able to check in later. However, the whole situation made what should have been the start of a relaxing holiday unnecessarily stressful.
