We were treated very well, great accommodation, close to everything. Breakfast was delicious. Secure car parking not far from the property.
Stairs were a bit tricky, but our bags were carried up and down for us.

We stayed in the lower room which was more like a self contained apartment, the house is so close to the centre of the village and the hosts were great

The owners, Tracey and Kevin are such lovely people, very friendly and eager to assist with anything. Our rooms and indeed the entire guest house. were immaculate, absolutely spotless. The beds were the best I have ever had in any hotel or guest house to date. So comfy! Our ensuite bathroom was state of the art and a pleasure to use. We could choose whether to have the heating on or not so the room was just how we liked it all the time. Plenty of storage for clothes and luggage in the large, built-in wardrobes, too. Breakfast was excellent every day. Tracey provided a gluten and dairy free breakfast for me which was delicious and always a good-sized portion which especially pleased my son! The guest house is situated very close to the central part of Ambleside so all the main places are easy to reach on foot, and yet, very quiet and peaceful in the evening. Secure parking was available for our car at a small locked compound just a couple of minutes` walk away. We couldn`t fault anything about Melrose Guest House at all and will definitely be returning!
A wall clock in the bedroom would have been very useful but that`s all.
