A fabulous stay with the warmest welcome from the owner and the whole team. Everyone was always smiling, ready to help, and genuinely made us feel completely at ease.
We stayed in a cute little house within walking distance of Casa da Várzea, where all the main activities take place. There is so much for both adults and children to enjoy that our one-night stay simply wasn’t long enough! The kids loved the bikes, go-karts, pool table and swimming pool, but the zip line was their absolute favourite. Sadly, we didn’t have time to try the climbing wall, archery or the many board games and toys. The children even told me that if it were possible to give six stars, I should give them to this place!
We also absolutely loved our dinner. We stayed on the night of my birthday, and the meal was incredibly generous and excellent value. We enjoyed delicious appetisers followed by a traditional chanfana, homemade by the owner—and it was honestly some of the best food I have eaten in Portugal! The meat was melt-in-the-mouth tender and full of flavour.
They also helped my husband organise a surprise birthday celebration in the restaurant and even offered the cake as a gift. Such genuinely kind and thoughtful people! We loved the wine served with our meal so much that we bought a few bottles to take home.
Breakfast was equally delicious, especially the wonderful homemade jams and fresh cheese. A truly special place that we would love to return to - next time for longer!
A couple of lights along the path between Casa da Várzea and the house would be a lovely addition, as the walk back in the evening was quite dark.

Our stay at Casa da Várzea was an unforgettable experience. The property is located in an amazing, peaceful area, and the house was clean, cozy, and perfectly prepared for us and our cats. Cristina and Celso are the definition of perfect hosts. They were genuinely attentive, always available, and treated us with such warmth and kindness from the moment we arrived. Their helpfulness made our vacation completely stress-free. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning. Thank you for your incredible hospitality and for making us feel like family! See you soon :)

Viagem em família, 2 adultos, uma adolescente e uma criança, durante 3 noites.
A Casa do Marujo é fantástica. Faz parte da propriedade da Casa da Várzea. A casa tem todas as condições para se passar uma noite, ou 15 dias. AC em todas as divisões, tv e wifi que chega a toda a casa, cozinha equipada, roupeiros, bastantes espaços de arrumação e água com bastante pressão para tomar banho. Tem tudo. Até churrasco para quem gosta de fazer os seus grelhados.
Na propriedade da Casa da Várzea existem mil e uma formas de passar o tempo, desde um trampolim, rede de volei, bicicletas, karts a pedais, mesa de snooker e piano, piscina, parede de escalada, jogos para as crianças, livros para os mais velhos, etc...
Óptimo pequeno almoço!
Por fim, a simpatia e disponibilidade da D. Cristina, fazem a diferença. Top! Recomendo. Iremos voltar.
