Deutsche Eiche is a charming hotel and restaurant in the picturesque, medieval town of Grebenstein that is straight out of a fairy tale. My daughter and I spent 3 nights at the Deutsche Eiche. The room was spacious with 2 twin beds with nightstands and 2 clothing racks as well as a small table with 2 chairs. The ensuite bathroom had a nice shower. There is on site parking which is convenient. We ate dinner in the restaurant the evening of our arrival and the schnitzel with mushroom sauce was delicious! Breakfast the following morning (not included) consisted of a personal platter of breads, meats, cheeses, and jams as well as yogurt, a soft-boiled egg, and coffee. It was ample, hearty, and very tasty. The dining room is rustically attractive and inviting. The staff was friendly and attentive. I hope to visit Grebenstein again in the future and would definitely stay at the Deutsche Eiche again.
It was quite hot during our stay and, as with most European accomodations, there was no A/C. A fan in the room would have been helpful. (Granted, we didn't ask for one).

Wir kennen das Hotel. Es liegt sehr zentral und trotzdem ruhig. Parkplatz am Haus.
Kühlschrank für Gäste (oder für die Handwerker?)
Das Restaurant war wegen Urlaub geschlossen. Das war uns vorher nicht bekannt. Im fußläufig erreichbaren Bistro am Markt war eine Musikveranstaltung, wir hätten reservieren müssen. War uns natürlich auch nicht bekannt. Wir haben dann eine Pizza vom Bringdienst auf der Hotelterrasse verzehrt.
Außerdem wurden wir -von wem auch immer?, vorgestellt hat er sich nicht - angemotzt, warum wir Schlüssel für ein anderes Zimmer hätten als das, welches uns zugedacht war. Den Tausch hatten wir mit einem freundlichen Handwerker, der bei unserer Ankunft vor Ort war und einer Reinigungskraft vollzogen. Ich hatte schon im Vorfeld geschrieben, dass wir dieses Zimmer nicht möchten.
Inzwischen weiß ich, dass es einen Betreiberwechsel vor 2 Jahren gab. Wir waren zuletzt vor 3 Jahren da gewesen.
