The communication with the owner was excellent throughout the stay! I appreciated the timeliness of his responses. The kitchen was well appointed and large. The whole apartment was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked really well (a huge plus for the South of France in August!). There were several balconies that offered amazing views down the valley.
The location is a bit tough. We booked before we knew we needed a car and the street parking was INCREDIBLY difficult to find. It was so bad that we often changed plans so that we wouldn't have to move the car! We also couldn't pay for daily parking, we had to pay 30 euros for the full week.
Menton is a VERY hilly town and the apartment is up one of the hills. Google maps will tell you it's a 12 minute walk from the Old Town but what they don't tell you is that it's straight up hill. There are several places were you climb 2 flights of stairs just to go from one road to the next.

The apartment was spacious, attractive, quiet and comfortable. It was useful to have the toilet separate from the bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped, although we didn't actually cook any meals as there were so many lovely places to eat in Menton!
It was a short walk into the town, the railway station and the sea. The beds and the sofa were comfortable and there was a good sized table, where we ate breakfast.
We saw some floats heading to the Lemon Festival Parade through the kitchen window, which was fun. People in the neighbourhood seemed very friendly.
The host communicated clearly and regularly with us, which was good. We really enjoyed our stay.
There is a sea view from one window, but the sea is in the distance. The cleaner had forgotten to take the towels from the previous guests away as they were hanging on the back of the bathroom door. My friend put them through a wash when she washed some things of her own!
