Good value for money. Whilst close to the Great Western Highway and train line didn’t really notice it. Walkable distance into Blackheath shops. Very comfortable bed. You won’t speak to any staff at all, self service and checkout through lock box.There is some basic self service breakfast if you want to eat in with cereal, juice and bread. Some all day slices and cakes available to guests is a nice touch. The dining room is tiny and there aren’t any real common facilities. The laneway to the property is shared and looks a bit ordinary Overall this is a good value for money stay,nothing flash but does the job well.

Place was full of character with complimentary food, John kindly let us leave our luggage there while we went hiking after checkout and before our train back to Sydney. Room was spotless with fresh flowers when we arrived.

Really nice accomodation. It was perfect. Breakfast was a good selection. Lovely drive through Megalong Valley. Would stay again

Rowan Brae Guesthouse was the perfect place for a mountains retreat. Beautiful character-filled property in a quiet location, very close to Blackheath village. Room was spacious and cosy. Lovely reception / sitting area with breakfast provisions as well as cakes and treats available all day. Outdoor spaces and gardens are beautiful too & would be nice to sit outside in fine weather. A wonderful find. Will be back.
