A spacious unit, very well equipped and presented. Very close to the high street.
Some uncertainty that free parking would be available as the place relies on a nearby, small, free carpark. Surprised to see that car access to the unit was closed off during part of our stay!
Lack of instructions to operate the washing machine and oven. No two appliances present their controls in the same way!

The apartment was absolutely wonderful, as were the hosts. The accommodation is spotless, beautifully furnished with every single household item you may need. The location is just off the main high street which means easy walking access to amenities but peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of a town. There are plenty of takeaways and restaurants but there are also three large supermarkets about a 10 minute walk / 2 minute bus ride. We were lucky enough to see the Kirkwall City Pipe Band playing outside the cathedral, which was an added highlight. There is plenty to do in Kirkwall itself and it is very well served by public transport to all the sights you may wish to visit, such as Skara Brae. The bus station is a short walk away and has an indoor waiting area with electronic arrivals boards. The drivers themselves are very friendly and helpful. The cost was exceptionally good value for money as the apartment is a bijou dream. We can't recommend a stay here enough.
