I stayed at Go Yala Hostel for one night before my Yala safari, and it was an excellent choice. The hostel is very clean, comfortable, and surrounded by real village and farm views, which makes the stay peaceful and authentic. The dorm beds were comfortable, the A/C worked well, and there are nice common areas to relax.
The biggest highlight was the sharing Yala safari arranged directly by the hostel. It was well organized, affordable, and the jeep and guide were very professional. Everything was smooth from pickup to drop-off. The eco kitchen experience and local food were a nice bonus and felt very genuine.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and always smiling. If you’re a backpacker or budget traveler visiting Yala National Park, this hostel is perfect. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Tissamaharama.

I stayed at Go Yala Hostel and honestly it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in Sri Lanka. The place is clean, comfortable, and very peaceful, surrounded by nature and the farm. The rooms are air-conditioned, the beds are comfortable, and everything feels well cared for.
What really makes this hostel special is the atmosphere and the people. The host is incredibly friendly and always ready to help with anything, transport, food, or planning activities. I joined their eco-kitchen experience and village tour, and it felt very authentic. The food was fresh and delicious, cooked with ingredients from the farm.
I also booked my Yala safari through the hostel, and it was super well organized with a great driver who explained everything and really tried to find animals. It was a smooth and stress free experience.
For the price, you get way more than expected. It feels like a mix of hostel comfort, homestay warmth, and eco-village experience. I definitely recommend Go Yala Hostel to anyone visiting Tissamaharama or planning a Yala safari. I would love to come back again!

I stayed at Go Yala Hostel during my trip to Yala National Park and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The hostel is clean, safe, and very comfortable, with air-conditioned rooms that are great after a long safari day. The beds were cozy, and everything felt well-maintained.
The location is ideal for anyone planning a Yala safari, and the team arranged everything for us pick-up, entrance tickets, and even breakfast in the jungle. It was super easy and hassle-free. You can tell they really know what they’re doing.
What I loved most was the friendly atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where backpackers and travelers actually talk to each other. The common area, the garden, and the eco-kitchen setup made it easy to relax and meet new people. The host was always available, helping with transport, local tips, and anything we needed.
For the price, you get amazing value, great location, good facilities, and warm hospitality. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, social, and comfortable base near Yala, Go Yala Hostel is the place. Highly recommend! 🐆🌿

Go Yala Hostel was the ideal place to stay for my Yala National Park safari. The location is calm and surrounded by farmland, so you wake up to nature instead of traffic. The rooms are air-conditioned, very clean, and comfortable, and the common areas feel relaxed and welcoming.
I booked my Yala safari directly through the hostel and it was amazing. The jeep arrived on time, the driver was knowledgeable, and we were able to see elephants, crocodiles and so many birds. Everything was arranged smoothly, including pickup, entrance tickets, and breakfast in the jungle. It really felt like a professional and well organized tour.
One thing I didn’t expect but loved was the eco kitchen. Watching the team prepare traditional Sri Lankan food with fresh farm ingredients was a highlight of my stay. The meals were delicious and made the experience feel more authentic compared to a normal hostel.
For anyone visiting Yala National Park, this hostel is a fantastic choice. The value for money is excellent, the staff truly care about guests, and the atmosphere makes you feel at home. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to other travelers planning a safari.
