Absolutely beautifully done, lovely rooms and building

The only downside is there’s no bar/restaurant or ‘life’ in the building

As a solo traveler I prefer a “manned” reception. This was a coded property. While privacy is great, I prefer the comfort of someone at a desk. Note I did feel safe, just a preference of mine that I didn’t realize beforehand.

Great location for local attractions. Only a short walk from the carpark. The room was beautifully decorated and had everything you need. It was clearly well thought out, with plenty of storage, sockets, and space. The coffee machine and shower were exceptional. The aircon/heating system was easy to use.

Only small negative is the pillows seemed lumpy. A few good quality pilloes would have made a huge improvement. A second chair would have been nice, so we both had somewhere to sit, rather than sitting on the bed.

The property was in a good, central location and was clean. The room was well equipped with a coffee machine, good quality soap from the White Company and an iron.

Upon arrival, I was placed into a room on the first floor near the road. The room itself was large and looked nice although I would say this is one of those properties whereby it has been renovated without great insulation. It felt cold when I walked in. The air conditioning machine in this room was not great and it kept turning off and on during the night. It also wouldn’t heat well. As a result, the temperature of the room wasn’t good. The mattress was springy and not comfortable. The actual duvet was thick and the pillows were fine but the mattress is the most important part and you could feel it felt cheap. Given it’s a self service apartment, you won’t get clean sheets, either. The bathroom was clean. No complaints broadly. I will say if you’re particular that it is not designed well with respect to the sink. There was no place to put the hand soap they provide (placed in the shower) and so it remained on the basin. The mirror light also didn’t work. The key takeaway for a reader is that what was worst about the first night was the noise. The noise in the first floor room was really bad as it overlooked the main street and you could hear people talking, not shouting; you could hear people walking; and most alarmingly, every time someone entered the property through the front door, the front door closing meant the doors in my room would shake and slam. People entering in and out of the hotel kept me awake all night because the door to my bathroom would shake and the entire floor would rattle, the cupboards would rattle, everything. Combined with the air con going off an on and the sound of water trickling and the bathroom making strange sounds all the time, I got almost no sleep on my first night. This experience alone was enough to prevent me from not wanting to stay here ever again. When I looked in the drawer, I then found multiple white specs of what I could only presume were drugs. It made the place feel unsafe if I’m honest.
