Awful / hostile hosting company.

The garden is quite nice. The location is close to the beach (10min walk to the nearest beach).

Initially I decided against writing a review, but after the message from the hosts I decided to take the time and do so. Beautiful property on paper, unfortunately the experience quite different. Shortly after the free cancellation window closed, we received a contract containing a clause giving the owner the right to enter the apartment at any time, for any reason they deemed fit. We of course declined to sign it. Booking.com was involved, confirmed our concerns were valid, called the property twice with no response from the property, and of course the property refused to release the booking despite our request a week in advance. During our stay, we discovered two fairly large pieces of broken glass at the bottom of the pool, a genuine safety hazard. When the pool cleaner visited (unannounced), we pointed this out. He cleaned the pool and left without resolving the issue. Further issues throughout the stay: • Ants throughout the kitchen, bathrooms and bathtubs. • A foul smell from the lower-floor bathroom. • No air conditioning on the lower floor, which, combined with a full glass wall and an electric stove, made the kitchen quite hot in summer heat. • A broken fridge handle. • Manual gates, which might be too heavy for a lighter lady to open. • The tourist tax was miscalculated twice, once charging for 6 guests instead of 5, then failing to account for a child being exempt. Correcting this back-and-forth cost us a couple of days. Given the age of the house and the absence of any inventory check-in at key handover, we declined to pay the security deposit, as there would have been no way to distinguish pre-existing damage from anything new. Finally, after leaving a score review, we received a message from the property management company stating that we would be blacklisted across all 390+ properties in their network. I share this not to complain, but to warn future guests: a low rating may result in a hostile, retaliatory response from these managers.
