We had our honeymoon in Blackheath 25 years ago and as a suprise for my birthday, my husband brought me back up here. What can we say about Brechin Cottage! It was the most beautiful home we have ever stayed in and if i was to describe our dream home, i would not change one thing. Everything is top notch and the only thing you need to bring is your food. There was butter and milk in the fridge and basic pantry staples like salt,pepper and oils. The kitchen has everything you need to make anything you want. My hubby baked a loaf of bread. The dining room looks out to a beautiful garden and has all the dining pieces you require, including plunger coffee, and Moccona cappuccino and latte sachets galore. The lighting everywhere is beautiful. The light switches are all brass. The underfloor heating grates are brass. The light and colours that stream in morning and afternoon from the stained glass windows is so pretty. There is a laundry to use and 3 toilets all up. Absolutely spacious for 6 adults or a family. The loungeroom has brilliant streaming options on the large tv, the most beautiful fireplace, lots of wood, and lots of really interesting reading on the coffee table about the history of Blackheath and the Blue Mountains. The house has underfloor heating which kept us so cosy during the end of July. I had a spa in the luxurious ensuite while hubby enjoyed his first clawfoot bath ( and now wants to get one). The house itself was so beautiful we didn't leave at all the last day. We sat infront of the fire, plunger coffee in the morning, wine and beer in the evening, and read all day..something we have never had time to do in 25 years. Everything about this house is magical and i cannot fault it. We have stayed in lots of places over the past 25 years in Blackheath, Katoomba and Leura, but Brechin is now our go to, every time.
